Chrissy & Mike : Sycamore, IL Family Session

I had a really hard time while trying to write this post. It's not that I don't have anything to say about Chrissy O., because believe me, I could fill a book. I just couldn't decide where to begin. Should I start by talking about how we met and bonded while wrangling children at a daycare? Or maybe about how we're part of an exclusive group, the Fab 5, that makes it a priority to meet once a month? I could talk about what an amazingly sweet and caring person she is, but anyone who knows her already knows that. Do I mention how awesome she is for sharing my name? I just don't know. What I do know, is that her and her brother, Mike, can certainly rock a camera. Chrissy contacted me because she wanted some pictures taken to give to her mom for her birthday. Her mom had been begging her and Mike for years to have pictures taken, but someone *cough*Mike*cough*, didn't want to. I was honored that he finally agreed to have me take his picture! :)

We went to Blumen Gardens in Sycamore, a place I had been dying to shoot at because it's so stinkin' beautiful. It's this little nursery tucked away in a neighborhood. If you didn't know where to look, you could miss it completely. We got some really great stuff there, and I'd totally go back in a heartbeat (hint hint ;]).

This is what I got when I asked them to show me sassy. I think they pulled it off rather well, don't you?

Aren't they just adorable???

We also grabbed some sweet individual shots for mom.

Thanks so much, Chrissy and Mike! I had a ton of fun! :)

Joe & Kelley : Rockford, IL Wedding

Seth and I met Joe about 5 years ago, back when we used to practice Tae Kwon Do. During the 2 years we were involved, we got to know Joe and his family. Every Thursday night after practice, a huge group of us would go to PJ's for dinner and spend time laughing and talking. It's a time in my life that I look back on with great fondness. Joe is literally the nicest guy in the world, and Seth and I would frequently talk about how much he deserved a great girl. Enter Kelley. She was everything that Joe needed: cute, funny, outgoing, and so very sweet. When we got the text that they were engaged, I was so excited! I shot their engagement session a little over a year ago, and was sooooo thrilled when they asked me to shoot their wedding as well! The anticipation almost killed me, but the day finally came, and it was such a blast! Now, on to the pictures!! :)

Joe and Kelley chose to see each other before the wedding. It was such a precious moment. :)

Joe's first words when he saw her?? "Oh my God, your beautiful!"

Rawr!

Some fun bridal party pictures...

The ceremony took place at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, and the weather was perfect!

A few from after the ceremony that I loved. :)

Time for the partay bus!

Joe and Kelley had an AMAZING idea to swing by Nickel World arcade for a few pictures. I'm so glad we did!

Next we went moved on to the Rockford Art Museum for the reception.

The reception was catered by Brio, and it was delish!

And if your mouth wasn't already watering, check out the dessert table...mmmm...

The reception was so. much. fun. These are just the highlights.

Thank you SO MUCH, Joe and Kelley, for letting me be a part of your wedding. You guys are AWESOME! :) :) :) :) Congrats!
