Wedding: Brent and Melissa

Back in July I had the great pleasure of tagging along with another awesomely talented wedding photographer, Tim Tabailloux. The day reminded me a lot of my own wedding day back in July 2004: cold and rainy. Brent and Melissa they were amazing. Originally, they were supposed to get married outside, but just as Melissa was walking down the isle, Mother Nature decided to let loose. They made it through the opening prayer before they decided to move the rest of the ceremony inside. Like I said, they were amazing. Not even the bad weather could destroy their happy day! Thanks to Brent and Melissa for allowing me to be a part of their special day for the sake of learning, and thanks to Tim Tab for being so selfless in sharing his photography wisdom with me. :)

POTN Chicago Meetup

Well, it's been about half of forever since I've posted anything here, but I swear, I have a good excuse! For those of you who don't know me and have just stumbled upon here by accident, I'm expecting my first child in March 2010! Unfortunately, I have not been feeling the best, so not only have I not been taking as many pictures, I'm super behind in editing the ones I have taken. They keep telling me that this part should pass soon, so I should be up and kicking again in no time!

Until then, here are a few pictures from a recent meetup with some photographers I met through the Canon forum, POTN. We had a great time hanging out at Millennium Park over Labor Day weekend in Chicago!

Wedding: Alex and Maggie

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to tag along with Katie Beverley, who, along with being an AMAZING photographer, is an old high school friend of mine. This was a very special day for me for two reasons: 1) It was my first time trying my hand at a wedding, and 2) I had such a great time catching up with Katie and her husband, Mike! I hadn't seen them since I graduated from high school, *ahem*, 8 years ago, but it felt like no time had passed at all since the last time I had seen them! I couldn't have asked for a better first wedding, and Katie was so gracious in letting me come along with her. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, Katie!! :)

Before when I said that I couldn't have asked for a better first wedding, it's because the Bride and Groom were so flipping awesome! Maggie was so cute and full of energy from the moment Katie and I met her at her hotel room, and Alex was so laid back and go with the flow, I immediately felt comfortable sharing the happiest day of their lives. Thanks, Alex and Maggie, for letting me be a part of such a special day. :)

Keslinger's Last Show!

May 22 was bittersweet. My husband, Seth, who has been in a band for the past 14 years, played his last show with his most recent band, Keslinger. It's a strange not having him in a band since for our entire relationship he's been on stage in one band or another. But it's good. To everything there is a season, right? :) Thankfully the guys in the band are close friends and I know they won't disappear from our lives. Anyways, I was honored to take pictures of the guys last show together. Check out my faves. (Brace yourself, there's lots!)

Love is in the air: Joe and Kelley's Engagement Pics!

I met Joe through Tae Kwon Do almost 4 years ago. I was in TKD for about 2 years, and let me tell you, those years included some of the absolute best times of my life! My husband and I were able to share a lot of those time with Joe, so when he asked me to take engagement pictures of him and his beautiful fiance Kelley, I was soooo pumped! We did the shoot on Memorial Day and while it's usually a warm and sunny day, it was chilly, cloudy, and threatening to rain on us. We got out there anyways, and I'm so glad we did! We had a ton of fun! Here are some of my faves from the day.










I love these next couple! Kelley has acted a lot in musicals and we had an umbrella and a lamppost. How could we not give a shout-out to "Singing in the Rain???" It was perfect.














I love this one so much! They are just too cute!!


This one was great. I had been directing them to do something else, and after I had fired off a few shots, they just started kissing. It was so sweet and I'm glad I was able to capture it. :)

We finished off the night by grabbing dinner and chatting. It really was an awesome day! :)

I did a shoot a couple of weekends ago with my beautiful sis-in-law, Angelica. Let me just say, she was amazing! As far as modeling goes, she's a total natural! Hope you like these as much as I do!!
